It came! FedEx guy showed up this morning to bring me a lovely 8GB iPod nano 6G :3 It's so tiiiiiiiiiny~ I knew it was small, but I never imagined myself losing it in my pocket. I've named it Sugar Cookie <3
My iPod nano and I have a long history. I really wanted an iPod mini when they came out because they came in pink. Of course I had no money so I missed both generations of those. Then the iPod nano came out. I was so excited, but then I was like "It doesn't come in pink, I don't want it." But Thanksgiving came and went that year and the radio stations were going overboard playing Christmas music so I decided to keep my sanity in the car, I would get one. $250 (ouch) later, I had my beautiful 4GB nano. I was so careful with it that I did not touch it with my bare hands at all (I used gloves) and immediately shoved it into a case I earlier bought on eBay. Later on, I removed it from the case only to put a cute Hello Kitty wrap on it.
2 years later, it died (just in time for Christmas music) and I bought a new 3G nano ($149 for 4GB was a much better price) and threw the old 1G into a drawer. I never imagined I'd be sending it in for replacement.
Frankly, aside from it no longer working (the wheel only responded to the reset keypress combo), it was pretty pristine. And as you can see, the little wrap did more damage to it than anything else.
And the front was so brilliantly scratch-free including the screen. Instead of a screen protector, I kept the little "Do not pirate music" sticker on (I clipped off the bottom). And of course it was in my very pink silicone case so it was definitely well-protected. It was never even dropped. It was just often left in my car in the middle of winter and summer.
So a month ago (well, more than a month ago), I packed it up and said goodbye...
And this morning I said hello~
Hello world my beautiful new nano <3 All I've done so far is charge it. I'm waiting for getting a case and screen protector for it so that I can keep it protected. So far, I like the touch interface and using it, but I'm very much in love with my 3G nano. Very much in love. I'm gonna be sad when it dies, but I'll be glad to have this as backup.
This is definitely a surprise to reward me for being such an early adopter :)
