Time to start saving

Byebye weekend. You were fun. You were hectic. You ended with an unexpected dinner party. But now it's back to work and this is quite the perfect time for this topic.

I don't spend much, but sadly, I don't save much either. But that shall all change while I'm working. I don't know for how long I'll be doing this assignment (I hope until I get a better job) but I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be working there for at least the next 10 weeks.

Why? Well, I want to meet a crazy goal of saving $1000 :) That's more money than I've ever had at one time (well, I think I had that much during college from extra scholarship money, but that doesn't count) which feels like a big deal to me. But it kinda came easily to me once I realised that if I saved $100 for 10 weeks, that would quickly give me $1000 :D

Yeah, I'm a bit too excited about it. I already stashed away $100 the moment I saw my check appear in my account.

What do I want to do with $1k? I dunno. I don't plan on having this as an emergency fund. This is moreso a happy fund. Maybe I can use this to take a trip... Or I can use it to make some other dream come true. But it won't be touched unless I'm using it to make a dream come true. Even if I end up being jobless again and unable to make it the full 10 weeks, it's going to sit there and I'm just gonna forget about it until I can start it up again.

It's silly, but I want a goal that I can reach right now :) And right now, the big question is what will I do with it. I could let it sit in a special savings account or I could possibly start up a CD that I wouldn't be able to access for a while which would give me a bit more discipline with saving. A lot of choices, but I'm so gonna do it.
