Today's lunch with mom

Ahhh, 2012 is here~ It's already kinda natural typing the year now~

I enjoyed the first day of the year in a busy manner. I woke up feeling quite ill. The night before, I had the world's best margarita (handmade by me) and I made sure to eat something. It really gave me a good buzz. It had worn off by bedtime and with the insistence of my mom, I tried some Mango Key Lime Pie. It was pretty yummy. The flavor kinda reminded me of something made with Kool-Aid. It was so terribly sweet that I attribute that to causing me tummy traumas in the morning.

Once the tummy settled down, my mom took me out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. It's one of the few chain restaurants in town that I've never been to so it was pleasant to try something new. Plus, it was free to us so I was prepared for what I would get. But I wasn't prepared for this:

The most glorious little nuggets of buttery, baked dough!!!!!!!!

They were so freakin' good. I swear. I felt like telling them to bring my meal out in a to-go box and I'd just keep eating rolls. And then there was this cinnamon butter substance stuff to spread on the rolls. When I put it on there, it tasted like I bit into a freakin' cinnamon roll. I licked up a little bit of the weird blob in the little cup to see what kind of magic it was made out of and it tasted like utter crap. It's a miracle substance I tell you.

After a while they brought our food. I went with the catfish. Don't know why, but that stood out most to me on the menu and made me want. My mom went with the ribs and we shared a baby bloom (a small blooming onion thingy) that said it was for two. OMG! It was SO much food! I had 4 pretty large-sized fillets of fish, a very large serving of fat steak fries, and a pitiful little bowl of green beans (I shoved them in my mouth just to get rid of them from my sight, so bland) on top of half of the baby bloom.

As usual, I shared my meal with my mom. I don't like BBQ sauce so I didn't have any of hers. She took one of the pieces of fish as well as a handful of fries. I made it through one piece and a quarter, maybe half of the remaining fries, the beans (of course), and a quarter of the baby bloom before I was begging for a to-go box. I don't think my mom ate more than a few bites of what she had before she was done.

So, I got 2 meals! A yummy lunch and a very lovely dinner that I was hungering for earlier this evening :9

Other than my epic big lunch, I walked off a bit of it shopping. First a stop at DSW. I tried on all the super high heels XD It's just a mini obsession of mine. I don't quite like wearing heels, but everytime I go to a shoe store, I go crazy putting on every hooker and drag queen heel in the store that's in my size. I did try on some sensible heels... I can't believe I actually had a longing for a pair of shoes...

After that, we ventured into Target. Since Christmas is out of the way, Valentine's stuff is starting to infiltrate the stores. It made me so freakin' excited!!!!! Pink and heart-printed stuff EVERYWHERE!!!! It's like the one time of year that the world actually looks like how I normally see it. I think this year, I'm gonna make a list of particular things I want for decorating my room so I can make sure to get the most practical cute I can.

That was about it for today. It was fun but the holidays are over and things start returning to normal tomorrow... I'm glad. I'll finally be able to tell what day it is without having to think too hard!
